A sound creature moulded by James Murphy, a US indie kid in love with electronica who became a DJ and producer, as well as manager of a record label founded with the Englishman James Goldsworthy. The result: the best hybrid between dance and rock around today, the worthy heir of the New York tradition symbolised by the Talking Heads. In this sense the recent album Sound of Silver is eloquent, and was unanimously acclaimed as a work of art. The opening track of the preceding album two years ago was called Daft Punk Is Playing at My House. They asked, we did it: it's happening at Traffic.
