Rock's living legend, few others come close. For everything that he did - following Warhol and not - with Velvet Underground. But also the course of his solo career, which is now 35 years old, and began walking on the wild side and is now inspired the spiritual balance of tai chi chuan. A path brightened by fundamental stepping stones, such as Berlin. Originally released in 1973, that album - a love story set in urban disintegration - is rightfully considered a classic. It therefore deserves to be celebrated in pomp in a theatrical version, which has already triumphed in New York, Sydney and Berlin. Rendered even more precious by the scene elaborated by Julian Schnabel (recently a winner at Canned for his direction of Le Scaphandre et le Papillon) and brought to life on stage by around thirty people (brass, wind and a children's chorus, as well as the usual band), while complementary images run on the screen (with the actress Emanuelle Seigner as Caroline, a key figure in the script), Berlin is a pure rock show.
